Apple confirmed at its Worldwide Developers Conference today that it will be launching a brand new iPhone. Entitled the iPhone 3GS, with the S standing for speed, Apple says the new device will be faster at just about everything, including running apps, e-mailing attachments and surfing the web. In fact, Apple says the 3GS will be up to two times faster than the iPhone 3G.

In addition the 3GS features a 3 megapixel camera capable of taking photos and videos. The camera also features an autofocus and "tap-to-focus" feature, which allows you tap on any part of the image to shift the focus there. Voice control is another new addition to the 3GS, with the ability to control just about anything by talking, including name dialing, and playing music, including pause, shuffle and other commands.

Other features include a built-in compass and a new "VoiceOver" feature that will read you everything on the display.

The 3GS also has a longer battery life and supports 7.2 Mbps HSDPA for faster networking speeds. The 3GS, of course, features iPhone OS 3.0, which will finally allow users to cut and paste and use a landscape keyboard.

The 3GS will be available on June 19 in two models: 16 GB for $199 and 32 GB for $299.
