Last week at E3 I saw lots of handheld games - some of them good, some of them not so good and some of them truly unique. It was a tough thing to do, but I've picked the top five games of the show that are appearing on one of the handheld platforms: DS, DSi, PSP or iPhone. I also chose not to include games that were so close to release, you can already download a demo for them. You can read more in-depth previews of each game by clicking on the title.
5. Kindgom Hearts: 358/2 Days - DS
I love the Kingdom Hearts franchise. The mix of Japanese-style RPG characters with Disney characters makes for some interesting and compelling story and gameplay. This latest installment is exclusive to the DS.
4. Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story - DS
This is the third installment in this humorous action-RPG franchise that does a beautiful job of poking fun at the Mario universe. This latest game looks to be just as good as its predecessors.
3. Little Big Planet - PSP
The adorable sackboys and girls are coming to the PSP, and they look just as cute and adorable as they did on the PS3. And all of the robust level creation tools are coming to the PSP as well.
2. The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks - DS
This brand new Zelda game looks to be great classic Zelda fun with a good dose of puzzling thrown in.
1. Scribblenauts - DS
Nintendo fanboys may be upset that Zelda isn't number one, but Scribblenauts gets the top honor for being truly unique. It's the only game I saw during the whole show that uses a game mechanic I haven't seen before and it's super fun to boot.
