It's always a great pleasure for me to meet genuinely decent people, who also happen to be musicians and performers. Dan Crawley and Jamon Scott, known on stage as the Toluenes, fill that bill quite nicely. These boys are the real deal.
I have personally had the distinct honor of making music with the Toluenes at the original Play It Again Jam, back when it was on Little Hamilton Avenue a few years ago. Their tunes are both unique and familiar, which makes their music quite easy to get into.
Jamon and Dan joined forces in Nashville about a half a dozen years ago, after they both had paid their dues on the music scene in places as far away as Los Angeles. Now, after spending all that time tightening their act, they are kicking off their summer touring in Cookville, and will be performing at venues in Tennessee, Kentucky and West Virginia right on until October.
Next weekend, Jamon and Dan are going to be performing at the Deadwood Saloon in Covington, Kentucky. One of the special things about this particular gig is that Friday the 29th the boys will be playing acoustically, but on Saturday the 30th they will be playing with a full band. Sounds to me like it's time for a road trip.
Being very talented but still nice guys, as well as being performers who can entertain both acoustically or electrically, The Toluenes are truly the best of both worlds.
