World Vegan Day, on November 1, kicked off the start of the Vegan Easy 30-Day Challenge, put on by Animal Liberation Victoria. The challenge is asking the public to cut out all animal products from one's life. This means no meat, dairy, or eggs. The challenge is hoping to show the public how easy and rewarding the vegan lifestyle can be. By registering on the veganeasy.org site, participants can even win prizes for pursuing the lifestyle.
The vegan lifestyle is not only beneficial towards animals, but also to a healthy life and the environment. According to the veganeasy.org website, 56 billion land animals are killed for food. The animals live a life of terror and misery, and the only way to truly change this is to abstain from animal products. The site also states that the industry using animals for human consumption are responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than all transportation! Finally, the site provides information on how the vegan diet will make for a happier and healthy life. Going vegan will drastically decrease the chance of many health risks.
Many people often wonder what to eat while following a vegan diet. Plenty! Animal products are only a small part of food that is available. There are grains, fruits, vegetables, and beans. Using these ingredients, one is able to create a wide variety of foods that are sure to satisfy any appetite. Veganeasy.org has an extensive library of easy vegan recipes.
Go vegan for the rest of November (or longer)!
