Confirmed: Steven Tyler is not quitting Aerosmith after all

Two days ago, we reported that Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry had announced that singer Steven Tyler is quitting the band. We theorized that this was an attempt to scare some sense into Tyler and make him return. Mission accomplished, Joe.
Steven Tyler proved he is not quitting Aerosmith after all when he showed on stage up last night during a concert by Perry’s side project. Tyler appeared during The Joe Perry Project’s show at Irving Plaza in New York and announced, “I am not leaving Aerosmith.”
Rolling Stone is reporting that the main disagreement between Steven Tyler and Joe Perry is over what direction Aerosmith should take. Should Aerosmith return to its blues roots, or shoot for hit songs on the pop charts?
That issue seems unresolved, but at least fans can now rest assured that Steven Tyler is not quitting Aerosmith.
