A movie starring Shia LaBeouf, Michelle Monaghan and Billy Bob Thornton is going to be good. There’s just nothing that can be done about. It’s going to be good.
I give this one a 7 out of 10 and am happy it’s finally hitting HBO on July 11.
The combination of romance, thriller and mystery causes it to appeal to both genders; maybe women slightly more than men - - - but don’t worry, fellas, it’s far from being a chick flick.
IBMd Pro describes the plot:
“Jerry and Rachel are two strangers thrown together by a mysterious phone call from a woman they have never met. Threatening their lives and family, she pushes Jerry and Rachel into a series of increasingly dangerous situations, using the technology of everyday life to track and control their every move.”
Since most movie-goers consider Shia and Billy Bob household names, I’m going to offer a reminder about who Michelle is.
Some of her better movies are “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” “The Bourne Supremacy,” “Mission Impossible: III,” “Unfaithful,” “Made of Honor,” “The Heartbreak Kid,” and “Gone Baby Gone.”
She also had a prominent role in the 2003 Kirk Douglas/Michael Douglas movie “It Runs in the Family.”
