Walking in the door you are immediately greeted with quality goods like limited edition dog bags, genuine leather dog jackets, and one-of-a-kind collars and leashes. LA Dogworks’ associate, Desiree Barnes, boast how she is committed to quality as she oversees the retail piece. She said, “I do my homework and I’m always looking for quality and unique merchandise.” Desiree is always willing to special order items and is open to suggestions and requests.

In addition to the retail, LA Dogworks offers top-notch grooming, boarding and spa services that include hydrotherapy, massages and dental hygiene. The facility is staffed 24 hours and is open for members 24 hours. For non members, regular store hours are from 7 am to 7 pm. LA Dogworks also offers a “fetch mobile” for picking up pooches, but members can always make late night drop offs and pick ups. The dogs are never left alone.

Rufus, my red smooth miniature dachshund, has been a long-time patron of the grooming services. The grooming area is enclosed by glass so owners can wait and watch as their dogs get cleaned, trimmed and all pretty. Desiree also manages the dog party planning portion of LA Dogworks and they have a separate building available for private dog events with prices commiserating with party size and other details of the event. Desiree assures everyone they are negotiable and flexible with their pricing.

This past October Rufus and I enjoyed a private dachshund exclusive Doga (Yoga with your dog) event hosted by LA Dogworks. It was $25 per dog with celebrity instructor. It was a good time.

Many people have probably passed by LA Dogworks on Highland and Santa Monica on the way from one place to another, but you should stop by and treat your dog to something nice.
