
Ski resorts all over Utah are opening up for summer operations this month. Most of the winter snow has melted off the mountains and the ground is starting to dry out. As a way to stay in business during the off season, ski resorts start the lifts up again for summertime activities.
Hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and disc golf are just some of the recreational possibilities at ski resorts during the off season.
Below is a list of Utah's ski resorts with activities offered and summer opening dates.
Alta: No date set. Activities include hiking, camping, and rock climbing (mostly in Albion Basin.)
Brian Head: Opens June 27. Activities include mountain biking and hiking.
Brighton: No date set. Activities include mountain biking, hiking and fishing.
The Canyons: Opens June 19. Activities include disc golf, mountain biking, hiking, fly fishing, and horseback riding.
Deer Valley: Opens June 19. Activities include mountain biking, hiking, and scenic lift rides.
Park City Mountain Resort: Opens June 13. Activities include mountain biking, hiking, scenic lift rides, zip rider, alpine slide, climbing wall, alpine coaster, legacy launcher, human maze, and miniature golf.
Powder Mountain: Opens mid-June. Activities include hiking and 4x4 tours.
Snowbasin: Opens June 27. Activities include hiking and mountain biking.
Snowbird: Opens June 13. Activities include hiking, mountain biking, fishing, mountain scooters, tram and lift rides, climbing wall, alpine slide, zip rider, bungy trampoline, and mechanical bull. Horseback riding and ATV tours begin July 4.
Solitude: Opens June 19. Activities include hiking, mountain biking, disc golf and fishing.
Sundance: Opens June 13. Activities include hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, and horseback riding.
