James O' Keefe, a 25 year-old film maker, and his associate, Hannah Giles went undercover to two offices of ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), a non-profit that helps low income individuals secure loans for housing.  O'Keefe posing as a Georgetown law student running for Congress and Giles, his prostitute girlfriend, told ACORN employees of their goals to secure a house to use as a brothel and bring in underage El Salvadorean girls as prostitutes. Then they would funnel the funds into the Congressional campaign.  ACORN workers were more than willing to help.

The employees advised O'Keefe and Giles on how they could disguise their business to make it look legitimate for tax purposes and then obtain a mortgage for the housing. Furthermore, the ACORN employees went on to discuss how to run the business and how to deal with authorities if discovered. They also said that the underage girls could be claimed as dependants on Giles tax return. This was exposed to the public when the videos were put on www.biggovernment.com, a website produced by Andrew Breitbart, Conservative commentator and media guru.

The result was the firing of four ACORN employees. Two from the organization's DC office and two in the Baltimore office. Yesterday, the organization was also disengaged of its duties to aid in the 2010 Census.  ACORN is also currently under investigation in fourteen states.

ACORN's other activities include voter registration as well as organizing on issues such as affordable housing, minimum wage, and most recently health care, paying individuals $500.00 each to attend recent health care town hall meetings. Since 1994, the organization has received 53 million dollars from the Federal government and 8.5 billiion in funds earmarked in the recent Stimulus package.

First of all, it is shame that when the economy is in such an ill state, the United States government is giving an astronomical amount of tax dollars to any non-profit organization.  Is there any other non-profit receiving such an exuberant amount of money from the federal government?  That's enough money to start one's own government.

Next, The organization is supposed be advising low income individuals on how to obtain mortgages.   Isn't there a government agency called Housing and Urban Development that is supposed to do the same thing, minus the prostitutes and crooks?

What explains the funding to these thugs is that our President is a great friend to ACORN.  President Barack Obama used to be a "community organizer" and a legal defender of the organization in Illinois. These are the type of associations that helped propel Barack Obama to the status he is at now.

Firings and ACORN being let go from the Census bureau does not go far enough.  An IRS investigation or audit is not enough.  There would be no second thoughts on what should be done if this was a Wall Street, white collar firm.  A full scale criminal investigation is what should be in order for this group. We, the American public should be demanding it.

The organization should also be renamed "ACRIME."
