Ryazanov killed in car crash:  A stunning tragedy for Russian gymnastics, coming just after Ryazanov won bronze all-around just last week in London. (International Gymnast)

Hambuchen falls out of Worlds: All-around gymnast (and, by all accounts, all-around good guy) Fabian Hambuchen sustains a foot injury and has to rest for four to six weeks. (Examiner.com)

Horton falls at Worlds: 2009 U.S. Champion Jonathan Horton has the World Championships of his nightmares, recording five falls (two on pommel horse, two on high bar, one on floor) over three days of competition. (Examiner.com)

Sinclair arrested: Star gymnast Melanie Sinclair, a senior at the University of Florida, is arrested after stolen goods are discovered in her Gainesville apartment. Sinclair's boyfriend "Bud" Williams and two others have also been implicated in the theft of several guns and computers. (Gainesville Sun)

Bieger gymnastics coach charged with molestation: A southern Florida gymnastics coach has been charged with molesting a 10-year-old girl at Bieger Gymnastics, a gym owned by the family of 2006 World medalist Jana Bieger.

The coach in question, Raymond Adams, was arrested for "aggravated sexual abuse" in 1998. But a group of Bieger gymnasts and parents plan to attend Adams's hearing, set for Friday morning, to support him. (CBS News Florida and WPTV.com)
