Ray Romano is making his return to television by again writing, producing and starring in a TV series. Men of a Certain Age stars Romano along with Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap) and Andre Braugher (Homicide: Life on the Street). However, this time he is making a dramedy for cable station TNT, very unlike his experience with Everybody Loves Raymond.
Men of a Certain Age is about 3 old baby boomer friends, now approximately 50 that are experiencing the challenges of middle age. One is separated and a father (Romano), one a laid-back eternal bachelor (Bakula) and the other an overstressed husband and father of three (Braugher). While their lives create different challenges for each of them, they are always there for each other.
Check is this preview of Men of a Certain Age:
I saw the first 20 minutes or so of the premiere and I enjoyed it very much. If you are 40 or older you should easily relate to Men of a Certain Age, whether you are a man or a woman. I'm not sure if this series will appeal to a younger demographic, but the benefit of airing or cable is that a TV series doesn't have to appeal to every demographic. In addition, the music played during the show is an extra bonus. If you like music from 1970s, with some late 60s and early 80s thrown in, you are in for a treat.
Men of a Certain Age premieres on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 10pm on TNT. This winning cast makes it worth checking out.
