It might not be a day off for most people, but according a list of National Food Holidays, today is National Creamsicle Day.
Hey, that sounds budget friendly to me! How many ingredients could you possibly need to make a creamsicle? Moreover, what kind of recipes are out there that would come in handy for National Creamsicle Day?
Maybe not as many as there were for National S'Mores Day , which was celebrated earlier this week. However, if you like creamsicles, there are a few ways you can help celebrate this important holiday without breaking the bank.
You could also make a Creamsicle pie or perhaps an easy Creamsicle cake?
Both are delicious, easy to make and budget friendly. The best idea yet? How about celebrating with an incredible drink that is not meant for the younger crowd? You can still keep this within the budget: look for that bottle of Vodka you received as a Christmas gift. Ask your neighbor for less than a cup of Triple Sec (it's the modern way to ask for a cup of sugar!)
Pour this drink into a large martini glass, garnish with an orange (you might need a straw) and enjoy the weekend!
Orange Creamsicle Frozen Cocktail
2 scoops vanilla Ice Cream
6 oz Orange juice
6 oz Triple sec
6 oz Vodka
Put all of the ingredients in and blender and blend at high speed until smooth, about 30 seconds.
Serve with straw in a large martini glass and garnish with an orange slice.
