A person only gets one chance to make a first impression. Fashion counts whether one likes it or not. The women have had their chance to share what makes or breaks the deal for them. Now, it’s the men’s turn. Pay attention, ladies. The insight given here by this diverse panel of professional gentlemen will not only surprise you, but will save you a lot of time, money, and grief in deciding what to wear when going out.

What breaks the deal?

Adam, a film student, said he doesn’t like “the long blouses women try to wear as dresses”, and also “when girls wear short shorts when they really shouldn’t”, or any type of miniscule clothes that don’t flatter what is showing.

A word to the wise, not every body type can pull off form fitting, tight, short, or spandex outfits. Instead of looking sexy, it comes off looking cheap and unflattering.

Donnie, a music business instructor, had this to say. “It really turns me off when a woman wears too much makeup when none will do just fine.” This sentiment was echoed by Jorge, Robert, and IT Brian. The panel all seem to agree that less is more when it comes to makeup. They like a natural look, not war paint.

Radio station Brian shared that it’s a deal breaker when women wear sleeping clothes out in public. Wearing jammies when going out to a public place shows a real lack of care to a women’s appearance. The men would all prefer the ladies save their pajamas for indoors only, and the less the better in that particular case.

Overall, the panel agreed that light, unnoticeable makeup is far more attractive, and covering more, revealing less when getting dressed will spark that hint of mystery that seems so lacking in today’s world. If it’s all on display, what’s left to discover? And men do so enjoy discovery!

What makes the deal?

There seemed to be a uniformed reply to this question. Literally, uniform! The men spoke as one; nearly shouting their answer with great enthusiasm that a plaid miniskirt is the absolute, top of the list, favorite article of clothing a woman can wear. It was always suspected that men have a fantasy about Catholic school uniforms, but now it is confirmed! Donnie spoke up first, with Adam trailing not far behind saying “I agree with Donnie on the plaid skirt thing. Just didn’t want to be the first guy to say it!” This deep-seeded fantasy reeks of the desire men have for that lost innocence in women. Every guy wants to be the first to step foot on the moon. It really doesn’t matter if he’s Neil Armstrong or not, as long as he thinks he is.

Second on the list of attention getting, deal makers is a hint of cleavage. Jeff, a newspaper editor, said he loves it “when a woman sports a little cleavage in a sexy way.” Ladies, please don’t confuse this with a plunging neckline. All it takes to grab a man’s attention is just a half inch hint of your perky cleavage, and believe, their eyes will find many opportunities to sneak a peek. Guys are masters at sneaking a peek; at least, the subtle ones are. The more obvious males won’t hide that they are doing a double take of your delicious doubles!

Another deal maker for men is high heels. Not the slutty, pole-dancer kind, but a strappy, feminine pair that shows off a woman’s legs, and lifts her behind. In his book, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, comedian, Steve Harvey responded to the question “Do men prefer women in flats or heels?” with “Heels, baby, heels!” Even the celebrity men love the look of high heels on a woman’s legs.

Adam claims to be a big fan of women’s eyes. He really likes it when a woman applies just a little eyeliner to accentuate her peepers, as long as she keeps the rest of her makeup light.

To sum up, the men feel that less is more when it comes to makeup, more is better when it comes to clothing, except in the case of the Catholic schoolgirl uniform skirt, and high heels are the bomb! Guys are looking for a hint of sexy, with a natural appeal. They prefer a lady in public, and a tigress in the boudoir (that’s bedroom for those of you who don’t speak French).

With information like this, a woman can save both time and money on her makeup, and wardrobe. The idea is to look natural without actually appearing as if no effort whatsoever was taken in getting ready for that night out. A guy can always tell when a gal takes time and pride in her appearance, and will show his appreciation by lavishing her with his attention.
