LC lunch in Cary NC

Many people like to go out to lunch during the workday, but being on a diet can make it hard. Going out is great, it gives you a break from work and often allow you to socialize with your co-workers.
So...where to go? These are 3 of my favorites in Cary.
Barry's Cafe on Jones Franklin Rd in the Swift Creek Shopping Center:
Barry's offers breakfast all day, so you can always get eggs, sausage, bacon, and ham. Their eggs are cooked in real butter and you can request butter if you have toast (they have whole wheat)
Other than breakfast, Barry's offers fantastic burgers! They have 3 sizes, "Baby", "Mama" and "Papa", which are 2.5 oz, 5 oz and 8 oz pre-cooking weight. These are real burgers, hand formed, not pre-packaged and frozen. Be sure to ask them to hold the bun! As sides you can get a salad or slaw (applesauce too, but it's packaged). Barry's also offers a "Cheeseburger Salad", which is their garden salad with jalapeno, banana peppers and bacon....and a Papa burger!
An added bonus with Barry's is the restaurant itself and the good that Barry does! The restaurant is loaded with all kinds of memorabilia related to firefighters. And Barry's provides FREE food and drink to Emergency Services during major events in Wake County!
Baba Ghannouj on Walnut Street:
Baba's serves Mediterranean food, but my all-time favorite is their Chicken Caesar Salad. Huge chunks of white meat chicken, perfectly seasoned and grilled on top of a bed of fresh romaine with lots of parmesan cheese! Or, if you're in the mood for red meat, try their steak-tips! Fantastic!
Fiesta Mexicana Restaurante on Jones Franklin Rd in the Swift Creek Shopping Center:
Mexican food is not off limits, you just have to make a few changes. Fiesta offers a fantastic Taco Salad Deluxe that is great for low carbers with a few tweaks....just tell them to hold the beans...and forget the taco shell! Believe me, you won't leave hungry! You'll get a large plate of food with well seasoned chicken or beef, lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, guacamole and sour cream. Fantastic and filling!
There are other places, that I'll mention in another article....but if these were the only ones available, I'd be happy!
Remember too, if you just can't get away for a reasonable lunch break, all three can also do take out!
