According to the Tablehopper's June 30 letter, Miette Patisserie has started making ice cream sandwiches with SF newcomer Three Twins. The sandwiches are currently available at Miette's Chestnut Street location as well as the candy shop on Octavia, and will be at the Ferry Building some time in the future. You can find upcoming Miette pastries on their blog (who knew?)

Currently the sandwiches are available in two flavors: chocolate cookie with mint confetti ice cream and graham cracker cookie with sweet cream. The only competitors on the gourmet ice cream sandwich market right now are Humphrey Slocombe (whose sandwiches I haven't tried) and Bi-Rite, which sells large circular cookie sandwiches. The Miette ones will have crispier wafer-style cookies.

Three Twins makes organic ice cream using Strauss dairy base at their kitchen in San Rafael. Their flavors include madagascar vanilla, bittersweet chocolate, mocha difference, mint confetti and chocolate orange. Three Twins also carries one lactose-free offering and two to three vegan sorbets. In addition to the stores in Napa San Rafael, and the new SF Fillmore location, Three Twins sells at the Berkeley Farmers Market and select grocery stores.

No word yet as to whether the sandwiches will be available at Three Twins stores or carts. The San Francisco Three Twins is at 254 Fillmore St, SF.

Miette's locations are as follows:
1 Ferry Building Plaza, SF
449 Octavia St, SF
2109 Chestnut St, SF
