Submssive by Anya Howard.

Thank you for joining me today. Please tell my readers about your book, SUBMISSIVE?

Hi Miriam! Submissive is an erotic Romance novel from Kensington’s Aphrodisia line. It is the story of art student, Gillian Nordstrom, who is falling in love with Bruce Wolff, an officer who works at the state correctional facility. Gillian is falling in love with Bruce but believes he will be turned-off by her submissive inclinations. She takes an offer to live-out her fantasies in a faraway place, and unbeknownst to her, Bruce soon follows. In this halcyon place Gillian finds out that Bruce is also drawn to BDSM. Their true feelings for one another are realized, but just as they start to look toward a future together an attractive Dhjinn (Genie) kidnaps Gillian in order to make her his love slave.  While Gillian attempts to convince the Dhjinn he can never master her heart, Bruce looks for a way to find and save the woman he loves.

What was your inspiration for your amazing characters?

Bruce is based a lot on my husband! He is a great inspiration to my muse. Gillian’s character was patterned in part by my own temperament and attitudes. Some of the other characters, like the Dhjinn, were pure invention, while a few were inspired by friends. In fact, one of my favorite characters, the sultry Queen Marianne, was modeled after a very good friend who writes under the name of Marianne LaCroix =)

What was the greatest challenge in writing this book?

I suppose that would be in bearing in mind it is a Romance, with certain expected formula requisites. There were times my secondary characters called out for more personal elucidation but my editor managed to ring this in.

Can you tell me what is up next for you?

I have a couple of books in the submission process, and am hoping to hear good news for them soon.

Are you working on anything new right now?

I am presently writing a novel set in ancient Babylon. It’s a sensual story of court intrigues and magic.

What is your favorite “guilty pleasure” when not writing?

I like TV shows that make me laugh and love watching and re-watching episodes of South Park. I’m a fan of the movie, too. South Park is probably not the kind of show most people imagine a romance writer captivated by, but its one show I could watch all night!

And finally, do you prefer a man to wear boxers or briefs?

Actually, I prefer boxer briefs. This is the kind of underwear my husband wears. They’re snug in all the right places, classy looking and very sexy!
