Maurice Jones-Drew ran all over John Busing and the Texans.

------------------------------

Texans fans have seen this act before.

And there aren't many positives  for fans to take from the Texans loss on Sunday.

They are now 0 and 2 at home after Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Jaguars.

They will have another poor record to start the season.

They are pretty much the same team they have been in the last two 8-8 campaigns.

There were many reasons to think the Texans would improve this season. So far, it hasn't happened. They have been inconsistent, which has been the issue the past two seasons.

For the second week in a row, the Texans offense did its job, despite scoring only three points in the second half.

The defense, for the third week in a row, was terrible. No sacks. Almost no pressure on David Garrard. Just one turnover near the end of the game, which should have forced overtime.

For the record, the Texans were the victim of a terrible offensive pass interference call on Kevin Walter on what should have been the tying touchdown. They also were unlucky on Chris Brown's fumble. His knee appeared to be down, but there was no evidence to overturn the play.

But the Texans would not have been in that position if they had played better defense. The Jaguars were so dominant on offense, the Texans did not get their second possession of the second half until the fourth quarter began.

The Texans have a playoff caliber offense. The defense, however, has regressed in a major way, and that is disappointing, because they have more talent than they have had in past seasons.

Defensive coordinator Frank Bush should be looking over his shoulder. Anyone who plays safety on this team should be hoping they aren't on the waiver wire tomorrow.

A 1-2 start is not the end of the world. But theTexans have shown no consistency, and the defense is the worst in the league.

They still have a favorable schedule ahead, but the Jags should have been a favorable matchup for them, too.

The problem now is losing picks up momentum. Players begin to question coaches. Fans get impatient, and the negative reinforcement begins. Boos come faster. Losses mount.

Yes, it is early. But Texans fans have seen it before. What they have seen before should not be enough this season.
