Up until now, not all teens had access to a bus to go to school. Some Portland and Eugene schools did not have yellow school buses to transport teens to and from school. They still don't.

However, what city officials have done is give free bus passes to teens so they can use public transportation to get to school. This is not a new program in Eugene, but it is in Portland. Now 13,000 Portland teens will not have to worry about how they will get to school.

Now transportation cannot be an excuse to not get to school.
