October 23 - At the Frys.com Open in Scottsdale, Arizona, Rickie Fowler and Greg Owen are tied atop the leaderboard at 11 under after each shooting opening rounds of 65 / 64.
Fowler, an all American at Oklahoma St. is making his second start on the PGA Tour after making his professional debut last week at Timberlake's Shriners Hospital Open where he finished tied for 7th.
He was the number one ranked amateur in the world between 2007 and 2008 and is considered golf's next big thing as he's already signed endorsement deals with both Titleist and Puma. He's expected to attend Q-school, however, a win this week would ensure his status on tour for 2010.
Greg Owen turned pro in 1992 and has bounced between the PGA, European, and Nationwide Tours since. His best finish on tour was a second at Bay Hill in 2006.
In his first event since helping the United States win the Presidents Cup, Justin Leonard is in sole second at 10 under after rounds of 66 / 64.
First round leader Nick O'Hern followed up his opening round 63 by shooting 68 and is tied for third place with Ryan Moore at nine under.
