UPDATE ONE, June 29, 2009: Four days, two business days passed since Sargent Burson said I should hear back from him in regards to the identity of what I call "the secret police" who accosted me outside the courtroom on June 10. There was no word, so I called Sargent Burson again. He said my email was forwarded to an unspecified person and I would hear back in...maybe a day.

I would say "want to bet on that", but I am afraid I would be arrested for being a bookie when I go to court for a family law matter on July 1st.

UPDATE TWO, July 1, 2009: Two more business days passed and still no word about the identity of the secret sheriff. When called this morning, Sargent Burson said a correspondence was put in the mail. He could not say if the sheriff was identified. Reader tips are appreciated. If you witnessed the following exchange, please contact Bohemian_books@yahoo.com.

UPDATE THREE: On or about July 9, 2009 the identity of the sheriff who warned a litigant about "threatening writing" just before she entered the courtroom for a hearing was revealed. His name is Sargent Wheatcroft of court security and the female sheriff accompanying him was Sybil Johnson.

 *****************************************************************************************************************************

I am trying to find the name of the plain clothes Sheriff who approached me outside Division 87 of the Stanley Mosk Courthouse on June 10, 2009 to "warn" me about my criticism of the court. He showed me a badge, but did not give me a card.

This is an exact copy of an email sent to the Sheriff at LDBaca@LASD.org on June 18, 2009. The initial telephone conversation was held with Sargent Burson on June 18, 2009, about 45 minutes before the email was sent. To this day there was no reply. Today, June 25, 2009, Sargent Burson was reached by telephone and he said there was no inquiry made yet, but a response would be made in one or two days.

sheriff harrassmentDear Sir,

As I explained to Sgt. Burson at about 2 p.m. today by telephone:

On June 10, 2009 just before a 10 a.m. hearing on my family law case to be heard by Judge Elizabeth Feffer in Division 87, Stanley Mosk Courthouse, a man in a suit approached me. He said he was a Sheriff and showed me a badge. He was accompanied by a woman in uniform.

The Sheriff Deputy told me he had seen writing by me on www.courthouseforum.com in regards to Commissioner Alan Friedenthal. I have filed many complaints about commissioner Friedenthal with Presiding Family Law Judge Marjorie Steinberg and the CJP. She took "appropriate action" about one complaint, the complaint arising from Commissioner Friedenthal's inappropriate comments made to me on transcript in an attempt to suppress my freedom of speech. I wrote about the issues in my complaints on CHF.

The Sheriff Deputy told me I wrote that taking my son away from me was like coming between a mother bear and her cubs. He said that was threatening. I said I meant no threat by anything I wrote. He asked what a mother bear does when you come between her and her cubs. I said "fight, like I am fighting with all this paper" and pointed at the four large boxes of files I had with me.

As it turns out, I did not even write the comment the sheriff referred to. The author of that comment mentioned her ex spouses new wife. My ex spouse is not remarried.

The sheriff also mentioned that I wrote the street name of the commissioner's property on the internet. I can find no law against that. In fact, the commissioner himself published his address on the internet, including the street number.

The sheriff also told me to refrain from sending demand letters with regards to my claim against the commissioner and his wife to their home address. He said to send it through the court. The claim is not in regards to my court case. (The commissioner has judicial immunity in regards to the corrupt and unethical decisions in the family law case, though he can still be held accountable criminally and administratively.) The case I sent to the commissioner was about his non-jurisdictional attempts to suppress my protected speech outside of court.

I gave the sheriff a copy of documentation of many corruptions to my court case. A copy of the cover letter is attached. One document we looked at was an order signed by my former spouse as "judicial officer". The sheriff asked if that could be an innocent mistake. I showed him the filed copy without the signature, and how my former spouse went back later to sign the order, when a judge refused to. The sheriff had told me my former spouse was in the courtroom but the officer did not go question him about this falsification and the other corruptions of the court file (see Government Code 6200).

I would like the name of the officer who gave me the "warning", the name of the female officer who was with him and witnessed the event. I would like action taken against the appropriate parties with regard to the alterations and falsifications in case file PD 016769. I intend to file a claim for damages in regards to the June 10, 2009 incident against the Sheriff. I already filed a claim against the court.

Thank you in advance for your prompt response,

Laura Lynn
