 Summertime is festival time in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; which is a one to two drive from much of the Chicagoland area. Traveling to Milwaukee is considered to be a slightly easier drive than traveling into the Loop by many people in the Chicago area. The distance may be slightly farther, but the traffic is lighter and the festival grounds are very accessible from the parking areas.

• The Milwaukee Art Museum Lakefront Festival of the Arts – June 19 – 21
• Polish Fest at the Summerfest Grounds – June 19 – 21: Polish Fest was recently named one of the 2008 Top 100 Events in North America by the American Bus Association. The ethnic festival features food, music and festivities on the Milwaukee Lakefront.
• Summerfest The World’s Largest Music Festival – June 25 – July 5.Music festival extravaganza features 11 stages of music with 700 bands for 11 days.
• Bastille Days – July 9 – 12  French festival is held for four days in Cathedral Park in the East Town area of Milwaukee.
• Greek Fest – June 26 – 28 – The 44^th Annual Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Greek Festival is held at the Wisconsin State Fair Park.
• Festa Italiana – July 16 – 19 – Italian festival is held at the Summerfest grounds on the Milwaukee Lakefront.
• German Fest – July 23 – 26 – German Festival is at the Summerfest Grounds on Milwaukee’s Lakefront.
• Wisconsin State Fair - August 6 – 16 – The Wisconsin State Fair is held at the Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis.
• Irish Fest – August 13 – 16 – The Premier Irish Experience is held on t at the Summerfest Grounds on the Milwaukee Lakefront.
• Fiesta Mexicana - August 21 - 23 Mexican festival at the Summerfest Grounds.
• Indian Summer Festival – September 11 – 13 – The festival for Native Americans is held on the Summerfest Grounds on the Milwaukee Lakefront.
