Recently the North End has made headlines but sadly for unfortunate reasons. In the past month 2 women have reported an attack in the streets after sundown. On April 4th a woman was assaulted near North Bennett court and at 9:30pm this past Saturday another woman was victim to this individual who is still on the loose. The attacks are not foreign to the North End streets. Last summer there were several reported attacks with no arrests and the first instance dates back to the summer of 2007.

Being a North End resident I am not happy that I have to spend another summer worried for my safety when I leave my apartment at night. I urge you ladies to be careful. Even if you are just stopping home to get a pair of heels between spring weather bar hopping, try to buddy up. Going in pairs makes the chances of being attacked drop dramatically. Guys, take the opportunity to be the night in shinning armour and walk her home. To be super safe invest in a small air horn sure to stun any attacker while drawing attention to the situation.
