Farrah Fawcett Feb.2, 1947-June 25, 2009

She stunned everyone with her beauty, yet Farrah Fawcett leaves a legacy that's more than skin deep.  Her smile was dazzling, her hair perfect, and her soft spoken mannerisms exuded southern charm, class, and hospitality.  Yet she wanted more.  Struggling to prove that she was more than another pretty face, she revolutionized American culture when she gave an incredibly riveting, powerful performance in the Burning Bed.  At a time when domestic violence issues weren't spoken of openly, Farrah's role was liberating for women nationwide.

The same fierce bravery that she displayed in the Burning Bed, she displayed in her fight against Anal Cancer, the disease that claimed her life, June 25, 2009.  Farrah Fawcett was more than a sex pot, or a sit-com star, she was a powerful voice that spoke against injustice.  She tackled the media weeks before her death, and courageously documented her journey through the agonizing and painful sickness that left her body frail, yet never stopped her spirit.

Farrah Fawcett has left an indelible mark on American culture.  Her beauty, strength, and courage will be missed.
