Cafe Hidalgo, a wonderful spot to celebrate such a special occasion!

Part 3 of this series exploring wedding planning in Fullerton, CA, discovers hidden jems of restaurants in the city for celebrating this great event with family and friends. Read on!

  It's official.

The question has been popped. The ring has been purchased.

And now, it's time to celebrate!

Five restaurants in this hidden jem of a North Orange County, CA, city help celebrate such a wonderful event with uniqueness and style. Whether it be in a chic, ultra-modern club or dancing with a flamenco dancer, these restaurants in the heart of Fullerton will make your engagement party special and incredibly memorable. These gems, in no particular order, are:

  • Cafe Hidalgo: Located in Villa Del Sol, the former California Hotel, this charming 87-year-old building is a unique spot to celebrate this wonderful event. The restaurant, which serves Mexican, Spanish and Latin American foods, offers two distinct locations for hosting an engagement party. The first would be in the La Bodega room. Billed as the city's first wine bar and tasting room, it can hold 12 persons for a private sit-down dinner or an hors d'oeuvre reception for up to 30. The restaurant can also hold parties in Villa Del Sol's unique, historic courtyard for up to 200 persons and also offers wine tastings, among other extras, to make your event unique.
  • Lizarran: Located on Harbor Boulevard in downtown Fullerton, this tapas bar adds a distinctive uniqueness to your event. Seating, according to co-owner Linda Euzebio, can be for up to 80. A flamenco dancer and a Spanish guitarist are also offered to add a festive touch to your event.
  • Cherch Restaurant and Lounge: This new, upscale, ultra-modern location is perfect for any type of celebration with friends, including an engagement party.  This restaurant and bar, located at the corner of Harbor Boulevard and Commonwealth Avenue, opened just this year and features a fantastic menu created by Master Chef Nate Sherrill who has received rave reviews on various Web sites for his work at Cherch.
  • Summit House Restaurant: Cherch too much for the crowd celebrating with you? Then try this place! Reminiscent of an old English Inn, this restaurant boasts fantastic views and a wonderful menu selection. This restaurant is well known for their prime rib and creamed corn recipes and will create a relaxed ambiance for your event.
  • Karma Cafe and Lounge: This unique, ecclectic location is also a unique location to celebrate. This Moroccan cafe has also received rave reviews for its incredible attention to detail and fantastic service to its patrons. Located in a remote location off of State College Boulevard, this restaurant features wonderful decor and belly dancers to create a unique event that is sure to please.

Have fun searching for your engagement party location! Please let me know if any of these locations were used for your special day!
