Anyone who has kids old enough to hold a crayon probably has stacks of kid art.  This artwork often accumulates on the refrigerator and is stacked up around the house.  Kids love their art and are very proud of it.  So, how do you display your children's art in an attractive and organized way to make them happy and feel accomplished?  Here are some suggestions.

1)  Get a collection of matching picture frames to hang on the wall.  Frames with a solid colored matte to coordinate with the room would be best.  Select a few pieces of your child's artwork to display in the frames and rotate the artwork maybe once a week or once a month.

2)  Let your children create contemporary art for your home.  Get some large canvases and select between 3 and 5 paint colors that compliment your room.  Let them paint whatever they want using the approved paint colors, but make sure they cover all of the white canvas with paint - even the sides.

3)  Hang a curtain rod in your kid's rooms.  You can hang it at a height they can reach or a height they can't reach (or their younger siblings can't reach).  Get clip curtain rings to hang their artwork.  If the rod is hung at their height, they can rotate their own art pieces on and off display as they like.

4)  Hang your kids' artwork on one large bulletin board.  Make sure the artwork does not hang off the edges of the bulletin board.  All pieces should be within the edge, border, or frame.

5)  Create a scrapbook using their artwork.  You can take photos of the larger pieces that your kids have created and incorporate those photos since the larger pieces won't fit.

6)  Put your children's artwork in photo coasters.  Make sure to get the nice glass ones, not the cheap plastic ones.  These make great gifts for relatives.

Avoid hanging artwork or anything on a refrigerator because it looks cluttered.

Once artwork is no longer on display, make sure to archive the best pieces.  See my article on how to archive your children's art
