This past Sunday, May 17th, Simply Chic PR and Derek Loves Shopping held a brunch at Room 18 in an effort to boost local morale and encourage shopping at restaurants and boutiques that have weathered the economic storm and crises of this past year.

Derek Warburton, celebrity stylist, hosted the day prancing along the lavender carpet with guests, including Alex McCord and Simon Van Kempen and sons, Jen Marden, Stephanie Newhouse, Alexandra Alexis, Adrien Field, Keino Benjamin, and many more. But the star of the event was little Eli, a Chihuahua, accompanying her human, Karen Biehl. FYI: Eli won first place in Best New York Tail Contest in 2006.

Diners  enjoyed homemade chorizo, wontons, fresh fruit or ham and cheese crepes, and fresh sangria from the family-run establishment that seats about 45. But the real question is: What did Eli have?
