Along with board games and card games, going to the movies ranks as one of the classic rainy day pastimes. Seeing a movie on a rainy day is an activity that never goes out of fashion because there's always something new to see (though there might not always be something good to see).

Regal Pointe Orlando 20 is located at Pointe Orlando on International Drive. The venue shows the latest blockbuster hits in 20 state-of-the-art theaters equipped with stadium seating. One of the big draws to the Regal Pointe Orlando 20 is its IMAX theater, the largest in Central Florida (and the only one in Orlando), offering patrons a unique experience to catch first-run movies.

The AMC Pleasure Island 24 Theatres Complex is conveniently located in the west side of Downtown Disney. The 24-theater, 5,400-seat complex, without a doubt equipped with stadium seating, is one of the largest in Central Florida, with the capability of screenings almost every half-hour. With AMC planning to install IMAX screens at over 100 of their theaters in the near future, Magic Trips reports it is rumored that the Pleasure Island 24 may soon offer an IMAX theater.

Premiere Cinema 14 at Fashion Square Mall, as a smaller scale theater, offers a more intimate movie-going experience than the first two theaters, but still offers digital projection and stadium seating. The theater has a partnership with the Orlando Hispanic Film Festival, hosting its 2nd annual gala last year.

Enzian Theater, located on South Orlando Avenue in Maitland, is a member-supported alternative cinema serving the Central Florida community since 1985. With its stated mission to "inspire, educate, and connect the community through film", Enzian is highly regarded for its commitments to independent film, playing host to a number of film festivals including the nationally-recognized Florida Film Festival, held this past March. Its refreshments are not limited to popcorn and soda; Enzian offers a full-service menu with casual dining options and even beer and wine.

By clicking the links for the theaters listed above, not only can you find out what's currently playing, but you can also buy tickets to the film you want to see.
