High speed car chase in Dallas comes to an end - Updated

A high speed car chase has come to an end in north Dallas after a truck t-boned the car being chased. Police had been following the car back and forth on 635 in Dallas. Apparently, the driver refused to pull over when he officers tried to pull him over for a traffic infraction.

There is speculation as to the condition of the driver now, who reportedly was in contact with the Dallas constables who were chasing him. He was threatening to kill himself.

Reportedly, there were at least 11 units tailing him. After exiting the freeway, the car pulled out into an intersection and was struck by a truck. It continued to roll for a bit. After it stopped, police swarmed the car. They walked away rather than trying to get the driver from the car leading to speculation that he was either seriously injured or dead. After being removed from the car, the driver was taken to a hospital. His condition is unknown.

The driver of the truck was apparently okay as he was walking around after the accident. However, there has been no official report on his condition either.

The truck struck the car in the driver's side door and smashed it in. The truck seemed to be traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the collision and it suffered considerable damage. As this is a breaking story, details are sparse.

The police didn't "walk away". They got the guy out of the car, and put him in an ambulance. Get your facts straight.

Yes they did... until meds got there. The cops just kind of mulled around waiting.

It's understandable they didn't try to move him. That's an EMT job.

Who cares what the Cops did after the wreck? The driver of that car was a jerk and could have killed someone... I wish the cops would have beat him.

Saw this live. I thought he was dead. Driver side impact t-bone style...if he survived, he was damn lucky.

It's a shame that we have to spend more tax dollars to keep this guy alive.

I wouldn't be sad if the suspect died. After putting numerous lives in dangerous I could care less about his condition.

Best thing is is that he dies, and it is good that he did not take anybody else with him.

But those cops looked like morons. At one point somebody threw something at the car. Why not throw a tracking device at the car, one that can be attached magnetically, so that instead of the cops getting off on chasing the guy and possibly killing somebody else, the car can be tracked via satellite?

John, you are a moron. That was a spike strip the police threw. If you watched the video, it was a far less than ideal situation to do so because of the traffic congestion and it therefore didn't work.

If you can manage to invent a GPS tracking device that can reliably be thrown with a high probability of sticking to a vehicle moving at high speed and have it ALSO not be able to simply be removed by the criminal and discarded into a ditch just as easily, then by all means- do it and you will be a millionaire.

Go work on your amazing prototype by throwing magnets at a stationery refrigerator from 10 feet away and you will hopefully soon begin to undertand why you are an idiot.

How like a libtard reporter to try to blame the innocent truck driver by implying he was speeding. It's never the slime's fault is it? Probably because libtard slanted "reporters" can empathize with slimes.
