The Greenwood Space Travel Supply Co. is holding their second annual Pluto IS a Planet Protest March and Rally this Saturday, March 14. They will be leaving their digs at 8414 Greenwood Ave N. at 1:30 p.m. and marching north along Greenwood Ave for a few blocks before heading south to congregate at Neptune Coffee, located at 8415 Greenwood Ave N. (We're pretty sure Neptune misses Pluto). They invite you to march along and "Bring your protest signs, cheers, and chants!"
All of this furor is over the ousting of Pluto from the list of planets in our Solar System back in 2006 by the International Astronomical Union. It was a move that was actually voted on by a minority of members and that has created considerable anger among scientists and the general population.
All seriousness aside (no really, leave the seriousness at home, this is for fun), this protest is also a good opportunity to showcase an organization whose name has caused more than one double-take. The Greenwood Space Travel Supply Co. really does stock and sell all of the space travel supplies an interplanetary traveler could possibly need (including towels), and they "contribute all proceeds to 826 Seattle, a nonprofit writing and tutoring center for the young people of Earth."
Is there any higher calling than training future generations to take up the fight for poor, exiled Pluto? We think not.
Check out a video of the first annual Pluto IS a Planet Protest March and Rally, shamelessly borrowed from their website, which you should definitely go visit.

I wish I could attend this rally, but you're a long way from New Jersey! Please keep up the fight for Pluto's planetary reinstatement, and know that you have my full moral support.
what a stupid idea....
