When it’s a good thing, it’s not a problem when the State Fair brings the same entertainment to the grounds year after year. Action and stunt lovers won’t be disappointed in the FMX show that usually runs daily with three short shows at 3, 5 and 7:00 pm. Don’t be late, it doesn’t last that long but its long enough to give audiences a bit of a thrill watching daredevils flip their motorcycles high in the sky. You can even catch them soaring with the bike plummeting through the air beneath them while they defy mother’s admonitions – hold on, keep your hands tight and your eyes forward. Mother doesn’t always know best and these boys have grown up to be gravity defying young men bent on entertaining crowds while they jack up the adrenaline and risk life and limb.

If this sounds dramatic – good! The stunts are dramatic and perhaps a jaded fair patron might scoff or list a hundred more exciting demonstrations of courage and skill; but, as a piece of entertainment among the variety of arts and crafts, farm exhibits, rodeo, song and dance, carnival rides, food, and other traditional fair favorites, a few minutes of FMX tops off the long list of fair offerings that are all available for the price of admission.

For an added bit of dramatic you can now head over to the food court and try some buffalo, alligator, crawfish, ostrich, frog legs, llama or venison if catfish is just too mundane of an order from Jungle George’s Exotic Meats & Bugs. Everyone loves fair food and this year the food prices outside the Midway, Kids Park, and Grandstand have been lowered by 25% to help ease the financial burden of feeding yourself and your crew of children and friends. Yeh! I like food but I like it even more when it doesn’t break the bank and I can save a few dollars for the pleasure of looking out over the fairgrounds from the top of a Ferris wheel.
