LEBANON TWP. – 'Strictly Hunterdon', an art exhibit by plein air painter Catherine Whitehead started yesterday at the Bunnvale Library located at 7 Bunnvale Road in Lebanon Township. The exhibit runs through Feb. 27.

The exhibit includes nine paintings comprising primarily of landscapes. "It features a mix of watercolor, oil, and acrylic paintings, all of which were painted on location in Hunterdon County," said Whitehead in an interview with the Examiner.

'Strictly Hunterdon' will also be on display at the Lebanon Township Museum in June followed by the Clinton Library in October.

Whitehead’s local paintings include ones at the Ken Lockwood Gorge, Spruce Run, Cold Brook Reserve and the Clinton Red Mill. A print of her Red Mill painting is also currently on sale at the Red Mill Museum.

The Bunnvale Library, which is part of the Hunterdon County Library, is housed in a one room school house built in 1915. It retains the original punched tin ceiling and maple floors that were in the school house, along with the original school bell.

The library is open Wednesdays from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm and on Saturdays from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. The gallery is open to the public at no charge.
