FLEMINGTON – The Bel Canto singers of the Hunterdon Academy of the Arts (HAA) and the Newark Boys Chorus will perform a joint music concert benefiting charity on Saturday, Mar. 27 from 4 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. at the J.P. Case Middle School in Flemington.

The Bel Canto singers, a concert choir represents a women-only group comprising of thirty highly motivated young singers. A renowned performing group, the Newark Boys Choir is recognized widely for its artistry. Their diverse repertoires include African folk songs, classical music spirituals, pop music and jazz.

"This is a unique opportunity to hear the collaboration between an all-female and all-male choir," said Valentina Jotovic, executive director of the Hunterdon Academy.  The performance will include a mix of modern and classical pieces.

The music concert will also include a performance by the Training Choir of the Hunterdon Youth Choir. They are an adorable group of very young talented singers, said Jotovic, who are taught healthy vocal habits, basic singing techniques and ensemble performance. "With practice, they may be able to join our older groups someday."

All proceeds from the concert will benefit Voices for Charity and the Newark Boys Chorus. Advance tickets can be purchased online at HAA or by calling 908.782.4943. Ticket prices are $10 for HAA members and $15 for non-members. On the day of the performance, tickets will be available at $14 for members and $18 for the general public.

"These students love singing and being on stage. They bring a lot of energy and passion to their performance," said Jotovic. "Audiences should expect goose bumps!"
