Jennifer Love Hewitt toasted the success of her book, 'The Day I Shot Cupid', with KARMA Champagne at Avenue in NYC last week. The party was an intimate gathering of her friends and family. Talk show diva, Wendy Williams was also in attendance. Karma sponsored the event. Hewitt first heard of KARMA when she was served it in-flight on Virgin America and personally requested it for the book launch.

Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt, star of the hit show "Ghost Whisperer," takes on the issues women face in love and dating in the new book. VOICE/Hyperion published the book. Hewitt candidly tackles the issues she and most women have had to face. In her book, she reveals a surprisingly wicked sense of humor as she explores the new landscape of modern dating and offers up a wide range of practical tips, from text-flirting and IM-ing to what men and women really want, and how to start over after a breakup.

"We were instantly sold on Hewitt's sassy and irreverent take on modern love and felt that her own confidence would be inspirational to women of all ages," says Ellen Archer, president and publisher of Hyperion and VOICE. "We are thrilled to have her join VOICE's community of women writers." Gretchen Young acquired world rights from Kirby Kim at Endeavor. Hewitt is represented by Untitled, Endeavor and attorney Bob Wallerstein. Sarah Landis will edit the book.

Hewitt has been in the entertainment industry for nearly 20 years, from her days as a child performer on "Kids Incorporated" to the breakout hit, "Party of Five," the blockbuster film, "I Know What You Did Last Summer," and now the Friday night staple, "Ghost Whisperer," a joint production of ABC Studios and CBS Television Studios. Hewitt explains: "Throughout my career, there has always been so much written about my love life. Some true, but mostly made up. I thought it was time to share the real story of what I've learned navigating the dating waters. Hopefully, in addition to having a good laugh, women reading this will learn from some of my hard lessons."
