Victorian Peaks is hosting a 5K to raise funds and awarness for autism and other local charities.
Join in the fun on July 4th, 2010 by running for several great local causes. Registration begins at 7:00 at the Victorian Peaks clock tower, kids fun run at 8:30 a.m., 5K at 9:00 a.m.
Ashley Buchart, The Colorado Country Angel, will sing the national anthem, the clock will strike 9 and Parker's Mayor David Casiano will fire the official race pistol. The race ends at O'Brien Park.
Costs: $25 if you register in advance, $30 the day of the race.

Parking: free at O'Briens Park, Parker, Colorado.
Stick around after the race for a post-event celebration from 10-11:30 a.m. which will include a live fundraising auction, runners' award recognition, free food and drinks, and the final charitable check presentation.

The Victorian Peaks 5K receives support through participant sponsors, friends, neighbors and local businesses. Bring sponsor donations to the event and turn them in at the registration table. Every $100 raised grants you one entry to win a 42' flat screen LCD HDTV.

I think public awareness of autism and autism spectrum disorders is still not nearly where it needs to be, so it's nice to see events that help bring knowledge to where it's needed. Thanks for the info!
