Kettering OH – August 25, 2009

This Saturday, Josh Turner comes to the Fraze with special guest Ashton Shepherd, for a concert planned to start at 8pm.

From the Fraze and Josh Turner web pages…

…The heart of every Josh Turner song is real life - heartache, happiness, fishing holes, and everything in between. It's those experiences that keep drawing him back to what has become his unique yet easily identifiable country sound. "The life that I live and the experiences that I have always affect what comes out of me creatively," he says. "I think that's what makes music real."

Turner's 2007 album, Everything is Fine, is grounded in the traditional music from his grandparents' record collection he heard growing up, with the addition of fresh sounds that speak to today's music fans. Singles from the album include "Firecracker," "Everything is Fine" and "Trailerhood."

In less than 10 years on the country music scene, Josh has an impressive collection of accomplishments. Two of his singles, "Your Man" and "Would You Go With Me," have become number one hits and he has been nominated for five Country Music Association Awards. His debut album, Long Black Train, sold more than one million copies and his sophomore album, Your Man, achieved double-platinum status. Critics herald him as one of the brightest young stars in country music today and compare his voice to the legendary Johnny Cash. He is also one of the youngest members of the Grand Ole Opry.

Turner's success since his debut, both personally and professionally, finds its way through the lyrics of his latest disc and leaves the listener feeling uplifted and inspired.

"One day all of this just happened," says Ashton Shepherd. She won a talent contest in 2006 to be the opening act for Lorrie Morgan in concert. Then a Nashville producer invited her to come to Nashville to record some of her songs.

Her debut album, Sounds So Good, is full of tunes that are as refreshing and direct as her young personality. You won't hear many "kiss-off" songs with more sass and attitude than "Takin' Off This Pain." Her voice chimes with innocence on the charming rural celebration "Sounds So Good." She's a feisty, fun country gal on the loose with "I Like Being Single" and "Not Right Now." The drenched-in-steel love ballad "Lost in You" contrasts beautifully with her striking, woman-to-woman saga "Regular Joe." Her "Pickin' Shed" and the powerful housewife lyric "I Ain't Dead Yet" are pages from her autobiography.

"I hope everybody connects with my music as well as Nashville has," she says. "I think they will. I think people will feel the realness in my songs. I've always dreamed of this ride I'm about to take. I feel as blessed as I've ever felt in my life."

The show starts at 8pm, and as of Tuesday afternoon, there are still $32 orchestra seats, and $25 lawn and terrace tickets left, but check the Concert info page to be sure. There are also box dinners to be had for $8.50 each for this show.
