2) The Ballpark in Arlington

3) Arlington Fourth of July Parade
The City of Arlington Fourth of July Parade is an annual event. This year they celebrate their 44th year with over 150 entries. The number of spectators has ranged from 5,000 to 70,000. It begins at 9:00 am in downtown Arlington. There’s even an award ceremony at Heritage Park, 201 W. Front Street at 1 pm to celebrate the best entries in several categories.

4) Dallas Heritage Village Fourth Celebration
Learn how Dallas celebrated Independence Day from 1840—1910. Grab a picnic basket and enjoy a step back in time. There will be hosts in historic costumes teaching Victorian games, croquet, and how to make a bracelet and a kazoo.

5) Fort Worth Fourth on Trinity River
Saturday, July 4, 2009 enjoy an evening of free music and family activities on the lovely Trinity River behind LaGrave Field. There will be a battle of the bands and enough activities to keep every family member occupied. Enjoy the levee slides, bounce houses, Jet Ski shows, photo ops, trail tours and more. It begins at 5:30 pm and the events are over when the fireworks start.

    Fair Park does a "bang up" job. Last year they had a military band playing as well. It is an excellent choice for the 4th!

    The Fair Park 4th of July Celebration is a perfect place to start a 4th of July family tradition. I remember going to it when I was a child. I have such great memories.
