The Dallas crowd on Monday, October 12, was slightly less than the anticipated 4,000. They crammed around the State Fair of Texas' Chevrolet Main Stage to get a glimpse of one of the most powerful women in the world. The chilly rain did not seem to dampen her fans’ spirits. Many fans camped out all night for a better view. Those who were allowed near the stage were asked to wear armbands to get through the security guards.
Oprah wore a bright yellow sweater, jeans, and a dark cowgirl hat and boots. The stage was decorated with a huge yellow banner with superimposed iconic images of the fair. “Oprah at the Biggest State Fair in America” was written in the traditional old Western type fonts in the middle of the artwork.
Martina McBride sang a couple of her songs with two additional takes to include audience responses. The Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders performed along with actress and writer Alexandra Wentworth (married to ABC’s "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos.) She wore one of the official DCC skimpy outfits and attempted to do a dance routine with the group, but couldn’t kick all the way to the moon.
Oprah featured some local cooking experts who won blue ribbons for their southern cuisine. She even tasted the deep fried butter and gave it two thumbs up. This caused the fans to stand in line to try it out after the show wrapped. She brought along her BGF Gayle and design expert Nate Berkus. There was mention of a funny incident with Nate and a cow, but no details.
A few weeks ago Oprah’s staff contacted Lottie Minick the Dallas Gardening Humor Examiner. She wrote a gripping article entitled Barb’s boundless cucumber bonanza. Barbara might be a guest on the show. Examiner Lottie Minick followed up her story with the sculpture garden’s point of view of Oprah’s visit. The deep fried butter tasters rejected the sculptures. The show will air sometime this fall and should contain some fun surprises.

You know we all love Oprah but why on earth can't she have a stylist get her clothing that fits? She is poured into that sweater. She and BGF should have swapped looks. Sorry O, Iove ya but you need me to style you!
Marilee, thanks for mentioning me in your article today. At least you remembered, no one else seem to.
I appreciate you.
