Starlite Drive-in is still the same

Starlite Drive-in

The drive-in that you went to as a child is still there waiting for you to explore and experience. Starlite is one of the few drive-ins left in the country, being only one of two left in the tri-state area, the other one being the Holiday Auto Theater in Hamilton holidayautotheatre.com/
Starlite has been modernized with many of the old structures being refurbished, including the screen. Gone are the days of twenty plus years ago where cars of rowdy teenagers occupied the lot until sun up. Today’s Starlite is more family oriented.
Starlite only shows two films, with includes a classic drive-in cartoon. These films are PG rated for the most part. The low budget horror films that drive-ins were known for, and the ones that played until dawn at the old Starlite twenty plus years ago, have been replaced with the same feature films that play in the multiplex cinemas.
The drive-in is located in Amelia, about thirty minutes from Anderson Township. The journey is well worth the drive-in experience and there is still time left before it closes for the season to take in a flick or two.
The concession stand offers: hot buttered popcorn, pop, bottled water, coffee, hot chocolate, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, double cheeseburger, hot dogs, pizza, pretzels, nachos, giant pickles, candy bars, ice cream, and cotton candy. The concession stand appears pretty much the same as it did over fifty years ago.
Adults 12 and over are $7.00, children 4 -11 $4.00, and children 3 and under are free. Tuesday nights are carload night and $18 will cover a car with a maximum of 6 passengers. More information and showtimes can be found at their web site: www.starlitedriveinohio.com/index.html
