The renowned Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing a number of special concerts throughout July and August in the Western New York area. Many of the shows take place in outdoor venues, and some of them are free.

• Saturday, July 3rd - the annual Buffalo Bisons Independence Eve ballgame and concert begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are available through the Bisons' website.

• Wednesday, July 7th - the first of four First Niagara presents the BPO Summer in the Parks concerts takes place at 7 p.m. in Delaware Park. This concert is in conjunction with the National Buffalo Garden Festival.
• Thursday, July 8th - the BPO plays the M&T Free Lunch Concert series at One M&T Plaza in downtown Buffalo from noon to 1 p.m.
• Friday, July 9th - the First Niagara Summer in the Parks series continues at Chestnut Ridge Park at 7 p.m.
• Thursday, July 15th - the First Niagara Summer in the Park series celebrates Niagara Falls State Park's 125th anniversary at 7 p.m.
• Saturday, July 17th - the BPO plays the Music of Pink Floyd as part of the Hard Rock at the Falls free concert series on Old Falls St. at 6 p.m., also featuring Scott Celani and the Jeremy Hoyle Band.
• Wednesday, July 21st - the fourth show in the First Niagara series takes place at 7 p.m. at Cheektowaga Town Park.
• Saturday, July 24th - the BPO performs Peter Shaffer's Amadeus at Artpark in Lewiston at 8 a.m. For tickets visit www.artpark.net.
