The Allston DIY Fest 2010 kicks off at noon today (Saturday, July 24th) in Ringer Park. Come check out local bands and artists. If you are an artist or craftsperson, you are invited to display and sell your goods.
The Jackson Mann Community School has generously donated bathrooms and electricity. Bands will be performing in the school’s overhang in Ringer Park, as local artists and entrepreneurs sell their goods around the park. Slated to play are local bands Pile, Arvid Noe, Yoko Oh No!, The Anymen, Rosa Mendoza, and Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. The bands will wrap up around PM but acoustic music and art displays will continue in the park.
In true Allston fashion, after the official event is over there will be several afterparties to choose from. DJs Die Young and Volvox will be spinning at a to be announced location, and The Haunted Casino will be hosting The Rodeo Church, Magic Man, and other local bands. As with most Allston Afterparties, the best way to find out the details on these and others is to simply ask around at the event.
Ringer Park is located between Gordon St. and Allston St. Click here for a map.
