Fashion Photography Workshops - Location Lighting
The next location lighting fashion photography workshop is going to be held on November 22nd in Manhattan Beach! Due to the fantastic success of the October workshop, we are really excited about his upcoming program! The full day program is based on the "Portfolio-In-A-Day" concept of shooting an entire fashion photography portfolio in one day.
Los Angeles and New York Fashion photographer Kevin Michael Schmitz has his bachelors in photography and pursued his Masters of Fine Arts to be a professor of Photography. He shoots fashion advertising and editorial magazine covers and spreads, emphasizing the concept and story of the photographic image.
Having been published in 8 magazine editorials within the past year, Kevin Michael also photographs album covers, fashion Look Books, ad campaigns and is branching into celebrity fashion photography. The images in the article were photographed at the first workshop in Manhattan Beach.
The location lighting fashion photography workshop will include an entire staff of fashion stylists, hair stylists, makeup artists, and high end fashion models. We will be shooting multiple fashion shoots on location at the Beach in Manhattan Beach, California, with top of the line location lighting equipment sponsored by ProFoto and Samys Camera.
Lunch, refreshments and snacks will be served throughout the day, and all equipment is included. All you need to bring is your SLR Camera. You will learn all aspects of the fashion photoshoot from pre-production and art direction of the shoot, to location lighting and directing the models. The objective is to learn advanced lighting techniques and capture mind blowing fashion stories that will take your portfolio to an entirely new level.
The workshop will have complete one-on-one attention and instruction with photographer Kevin Michael Schmitz. The price for the workshop on November 22, 2009, is only $395 for a limited time while openings are still available.
There will be a workshop December 13, 2009 about the business of photography and portfolio cohesion, marketing and networking along with top industry panelists, art buyers and photo editors.

The first location lighting workshop was held on sunday October 18, 2009 and it was absolutely amazing! They had 2 fashion stylists, a crew of 5 hair and makeup artists, manicurists, assistants, and a behind the scenes videographer.
They had 4 Incredible fashion models from ELITE and Pinkerton Models and the photographers that enrolled photographed strong commercially viable portfolios in one day!
