Mayor of Moscow - Yuri Luzhkov
Does the biblical teaching that homosexuality is a sin make one a homophobe? Of course the answer to that question would depend on which camp you're in, the gay camp or the straight camp. Scripturally speaking, witnessing to a homosexual would not make them a homophobe, but on the other hand, it would be an opportunity for the homosexual community to say 'yes' that person is a homophobe.
But, the Mayor of Moscow has his own problems with a scheduled gay pride parade on May 29th. According to Breitbart.com, Mayor Yuri Luzhkov is to have said that "A gay parade... cannot be called anything but a Satanic act". Is he off the mark with his statements, or has he hit the bullseye?
Luzhkov made the same kind of statement back in 2007 and was unsuccessfully sued for libel by gay rights campaigners. Even in the united states, the Supreme Court would not see those statements as libel, at least not yet.
It's doubtful that many Christians or Christian Evangelists would point to that same event and come to the same conclusions. However, the same Christians and/or Evangelists would point out that it is a sinful lifestyle and that by glorifying that lifestyle is simply adding to the burden of sin by the individuals who participate.
The mayor of Moscow is off the mark! He's missed the bullseye by several scoring rings on this one. We don't know the religious affiliation, if any, of Mayor Luzhkov, but as mentioned before, he's off the mark. However, rest assured that homosexuality is sin. Call it what you like, but scripture tells us that it's an abomination to God.

Yeah, and eating shellfish is a sin, and touching pigskin, and working on Saturday, and talking to menstruating women, and a host of other things. Don't be so primitive! If anything's Satanic, it's clinging to the irrational ignorance, fear and hatred of homosexuality expressed in the OT.

So? Satanism isn't illegal, in Russia or the US. If he doesn't like it, well, that's his problem.
You religious people are completely oblivious to the fact that in the bible if you read matthew, it saids that you are BORN with your sexual orientation from your mothers whomb!!!! And for the most part half of you would have NO IDEA!!! what's it's like to be gay in the first place!!!

My dear, you are confused about a few things.
You confuse sexual orientation with God determining the sex of a baby in the mothers womb. "Sexual Orientation" is nothing more than choosing which sex you want to be if you don't like the one you were given by God.
You have proven the point that people choose to be gay or not to be gay. They ARE NOT born that way, they are simply born one sex or the other. Please re-read your Bible!
