Dirty Harry: The shameless Mormon

Sweetheart deals and pay to play politics is alive and well in our countries capital.  However, what is really a concern for Christians is the fact that the current Senate healthcare bill STILL has the prospect of taxpayer funded abortion.  Of course this bill will now have to be blended with the House version of their healthcare bill which also contains taxpayer funded abortions, to then come up with the final bill.

Harry Reid (left) inserted a $300 million earmark in his healthcare bill to buy the vote of Senator Mary Landrieu. That was enough for Landrieu to side with Harry and vote in favor of the bill. When the media reported that Landrieu pulled off just a $100 million lottery for her state, Landrieu denied the report but defended her actions by saying, “I am not going to be defensive about asking for help in this situation. It is not a $100 million fix, it is a nearly $300 million fix.”  She was bragging!

It appears that Harry Reid (D-NV) has no shame when it comes to making deals for votes.  Of course, Mary Landrieu (right) (D-NV) is in the same boat.  Question is; who was holding who as a political hostage in this case?  All of this (should the final bill pass) is at the expense of our children and grandchildren.  Christians will not tolerate taxpayer funded abortions at any level, and the Christian right will be responsible for voting 'Dirty Harry' out of office as a Senator.

The 2,074-page Senate bill funds abortions, mandates coverage even for those who do not want it, imposes new taxes, and establishes a government-directed system that will bankrupt the country and kill the sputtering economy.

There is nothing to be proud of in Harry Reid or Mary Landrieu when it comes to their values.  They both leave much to be desired as leaders of their respective districts, and the country as a whole.  The coming mid-term elections will be an example of how the Christian right will have an effect in the next Presidential election.

    I don't like Harry Reid any better than you do, but being Mormon has nothing to do with this article, and I find your title offensive. Would you have written Dirty Harry the shameless Jew? I doubt it, because you know that would be wrong. Slurs of any kind should not be tolerated by Examiner.com. I'm horrified.

    RE: Lisa;
    If Harry Reid was a Jew and he did what he did regarding Mary Landrieu and 300 million dollars tacked on to a healthcare bill that STILL has taxpayer funded abortion.....yes, then I would call him a shameless Jew!

    Harry Reid is a Mormon. There is no slur in calling him a Mormon, but it makes one think about him calling himself a Christian when he approves of abortion.

    RE: Lisa;

    I have the same attitude about Catholics, Baptists, Lutherans, or any other Christian denomination that approves of abortion.

    Unfortunately, Harry Reid tacked on to this bill a total of 300 million dollars for another senator & her state just to get her vote! What he did "is" shameless and even more so because he calls himself a Christian.

    As a "Dirty Harry" fan ala Clint Eastwood I would prefer you call Reid "Dingy Harry" instead, he doesn't deserve the title Clint made famous.

    RE: Harry Callahan;

    Nothing against Clint, but Dingy Harry is Rush Limbaughs term for him. Glad to hear that you listen to Rush!

    If you look at the numbers, Republicans are far worse in this regard. Republican states take hundreds of billions more in pork spending than they pay in federal taxes, the more Christian, the more they are on Republican welfare. So much for fiscal responsibility and self-reliance.

    So, worry about the beam in your own eye first.
