Focus on the Family Superbowl commercial and Tebow

Colorado Springs: If a thirty second pro-life ad in  the midst of Go Daddy, Budweiser and a little piece of business the NFL calls the Superbowl has any impact on the culture it may have come in the weeks before. Yes, the positive true story of a woman  who decides to keep her baby even when medical staff warns her that there might be abnormalities is uplifting. When the baby turns out to be Tim Tebow the Heisman trophy winning Quarterback the message is even more profound. The national Organization for Women did not want that ad to air  last night.

NOW hype

Prior to the actual airing of the commercial the pre-game controversy surrounding the commercial was hype caused by the opposition. Focus on the Family did what they should have they kept the spot close to the vest making sure that Uncle Harry and Aunt Martha stayed glued to their TV for the first dozen minutes of the game. No one wanted to miss the ad but if you blinked you may have. The NOW hype was great publicity  for pro-life than the commercial itself.

After shocks

The Aftershocks of the pro life message may be more in paying the bill for the commercial than the impact. Sources say that the reaction at FOF today is - thumbs up. Focus on the Family TV and films division are made up of the very best in the business and so the quality is not an issue. The message is equally as great as the filming of it. Thirty seconds during hours of Superbowl coverage however at premium air time dollars is a judgment call that we hope does not come back to haunt Focus on the Family.

What do you think? Did you see it? Did it impact your heart and mind? Did it change anything? Was it a waste of money or a good investment?

Probably since you do not have data for such issues. The story is worth telling in this case and it isn't preachy. Think about the other side- how many Einsteins or Obamas, or great athletes have been aborted? It makes you think...

By such logic, those who abort and murder their children before they were born for convenience should be aborted to keep them from growing up to murder others, that are defenseless.

This type of ad should be seen more often. It's a choice. Killing babies is an unbelievable thing.

Too bad it cost so much money to air- but if it saves lives- it is worth it!

We greatly appreciated the positive, uplifting message from Tim Tebow and his mother. It was tremendously refreshing and appropriate during the enthusiasm and exuberant life exhibited in a football game. Who can argue with their experience?! They shared what happened and the result they experienced. It's great to know. In this land where we value freedom and the right to choose our beliefs, it is certainly welcome.

Thanks so much for the responses on this. After dealing with the profane nature of a coffee shop in Aurora that is based on body parts and not coffee- this is a breath of fresh air!

Dudes, he tackled his mother, and then they tackled Betty White and Abe Vigoda. The last of respect for our elders is appauling.

Oh, this is about reproductive rights. Well, they already make getting abortion, vacetomies, and tubes tied, difficult and expensive.

They want us to breed, new generations of what Shakespeare, St. Augustine, and Clement of Alexandria refered to as "sinners". So stop sin in the world by stopping the breeding process. Although, the cowardly men here won't get vacetomies, no doubt, becuase they are hypocrits who don't really believe in God.
