Have you ever just wanted to get away and be alone with God? You are in good company - Jesus did too. He absolutely took the time to commune with the Father. Look at Mark 1:35 for an example: "And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, He went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed." If Jesus did this we should emulate the same practice...not in a legalistic way, but in a way where we honor God by giving Him the first portion of our day.
Do you have a solitary place where you go to pray? You don't have to have just one, but you should have at least one. It could be in a little section of your bedroom. a kitchen nook, or maybe you have a spare room that can be converted into a prayer room. Is there a park, lake, beach, hill? We all need somewhere to separate ourselves from the cares of this world and talk to the Father?
Christians need a time and place to sanctify themselves. It's important to take the time, and early in the morning is a wonderful time to do it. Make God first priority. He's worth it! Besides, If you know God, you already know He's not big on left-overs. The word of God says, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." So what will be added unto you? Godly wisdom! We can never get enough of that. The word of God tells us in Proverbs 8:17-21:
I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:
That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
Do you belong to Him? The Lord guarantees that He will be found of those who seek Him. Don't have a solitary place yet? He can take care of that too. Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you (Matthew 7:7). The King of kings and the Lord of lords desires your company, so separate yourself like Jesus did. Find your place and seek God early in the morning knowing that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (James 5:16).
