Traveling by air?

Since summer is high time to traverl for vacation, make sure you use these tips when traveling by air:

  • When they SAY only one carry-on and one smaller PERSONAL item, that applies to everyone.  Why some people BELIEVE that they are more special than others and can bring that piano-sized duffle aboard is beyond me.
  • Grabbing the back of the seat in front of you as you try to get up is just rude.  Consider the effect that has on the other person -- it yanks their seat back, bumps them all around, and generally disturbs their peace.  Likewise kicking the seat (unless accidental - once, leave it alone, two or more times be sensitive and apologize!), or dropping/pushing the tray out of/back into its holder.
  • Be mindful of "seat sprawl."  You were sold ONE seat of a specific dimension. SHARE the armrest and keep to your personal space.  This is a general rule, but is not intended to be derogatory to those people who are larger-than-average.
  • Also, people who push/shove, try to "cheat" the seating process in order to get on the plane quicker. Folks, we're all leaving at the same time -- no need to push and shove. Queue up and be patient.
  • Finally, be mindful of the volume of your conversations. The people in the seats in front of, next to, and behind you are literally 5 feet away.  No need for them to hear about your neighbor's latest liposuction disaster...keep your volume down, please.
