After work happy hour is really the only way to get over the work week hump. What better way to spend the hours directly following 8 hours of work than commiserating with those experiencing the same problems? Manhattan hot spot Rosa Mexicano is raising the bar for happy hour on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The famed pink-hued Mexican eatery, which has multiple locations throughout Manhattan, is now offering free guacamole at the bar with any $10 purchase as part of their ‘Guac on Tap’ promotion. Rosa’s guacamole is the best I’ve had in Manhattan; chunks of avocado, fresh cilantro and lime served with fried tortilla chips. While I have dinner at Rosa often, I never decline the guac made tableside and served in an authentic molcajete.

Though the drinks can be a bit pricey, they are heavily spiked and you’ll have no problem meeting the $10 minimum. Choose from their extensive drink menu, which includes margaritas, sangria, wine, and if it's been a really rough day, some tequila flights. I recommend their deliciously famed pomegranate margarita. The downside? The free guac is only available from 5-6 PM, which could be a bit early for some. If you do plan to bolt out of work as the bell tolls 5, try the Union Square location for its large bar and open layout. You can bet I’ll be going every week.
