The 9/11 Never Forget Coalition announced today that its rally to protest the decision to bring Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four of his associates to trial in New York City will proceed as planned, "rain or shine."
The 9/11 Never Forget Coalition had scheduled its rally at noon Saturday, December 5, at Foley Square in Manhattan.
Earlier in the week the Coalition expressed its dismay at a statement from New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, to the effect that the decision to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his associates in a civilian court in New York City was made without prior consultation of city officials. Debra Burlingame, the chief organizer of tomorrow's event, said this in response:

This shocking revelation makes it crystal clear that the Attorney General’s decision to bring Khalid Shaikh Mohammed to New York City was pre-ordained, and he wasn’t about to ask for input that would have resulted in his having to defend the indefensible.
The Coalition expects thousands of people to attend tomorrow's rally, this although current weather forecasts specify a seventy-percent chance of rain and/or snow in New York beginning tomorrow afternoon.
Our rally on Saturday, December 5 will tell Attorney General Eric Holder, President Barack Obama and their supporters in Congress: We will fight you all the way!
The Coalition's principal objection is, and always has been, that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who is not a US citizen and who is suspected of committing an act of war against the United States, ought to be tried before a military tribunal, and that nothing in the Constitution or any statute can legitimately construe so as to require a civilian trial of his case.

Before the Khalid Shaikh Mohammed Circus comes to town attracting freak shows and illusionists to the midway, I thought the following information would be of interest:
Todd Beamer's memorial service was held on 09/16/01 at the Princeton Alliance Church in Plainsboro, New Jersey. Todd Beamer's wife, Lisa Beamer, a grieving mother of two and four months pregnant with her third child, registers TODDBEAMER.ORG four days later on 09/20/01, incorporates The Todd M. Beamer Memorial Foundation eight days later on 9/24/01 and then applies for the trademark "Let's Roll" ten days later on 9/26/01. Instead of acting like a wife and mother who should be experiencing untold grief and loss her behavior turns a catastrophic personal tragedy into a cold and calculating cheap publicity stunt. But then, the U S Government's 9/11 propaganda machine needed heroes as well as villains paraded through the media to support endless wars that murder indigenous people for control of their natural resources.
I was 2 blocks from the south tower on 9/11. I was shell shocked that day and the morning after. When I learned what really had happened I was outraged and wanted our country to take swift and desive action. Eight years later many (like Mr. Goldstein either have forgetten, or maybe did not care in the first place). I find his post offensive and an insult to those who were murdered. Todd Beamer was a hero. If I had died like he did, I would want my wife and all of my family to to emulate his. They are true Americans. I will never forget 9/11; I still have flashbacks. The idea of affording these murderers the same rights as an American citizen is a disgrace. God bless those at the rally. I wish I was there with you. Heath issues prevent my traveling to NYC.
