Introduction
The Beast Within was not what this reviewer expected when reading. It actually took a turn I did not expect that had this reviewer going “WTH?” Charisma Knight is a brand new author and with this story, well she is definitely coming out with guns blazing! The name of this book is appropriate.

Overall
This story is not the typical erotic romance and is very different. It has an in your face quality to it that leaves nothing hidden. The main character, Diana, is hungry for sex and she is not afraid to go after what she wants. She is successful and plays hard.
What threw this reviewer was the way the story turned into something completely different from what was expected. When reading an erotic romance, the sex is there but so is the formula for the guy to get the girl.
Well in this situation the guy gets the girl, but not in the way expected. This reviewer at first kept shaking her head, yet by the end of the story this reviewer was hooked. This is a definite what would really happen if a vampire seduced you kind of story.
Bottom Line
This book gets 4 out of 5 with 5 flames. This story will knock you on your butt and not apologize for it. This is not a traditional erotic romance. The vampire lore is pretty much the same, but even with that the author puts her own spin on it. The book ended in such a way that this reviewer is still in reader shock, because romance books just do not end that way. Thank goodness this is part of a series of good vs. evil. Do not let this book pass you by.
