Dark Elves is a truly wicked story. I came across this book last year when I saw the cover. It totally intrigued me. It is part of an ongoing series.
The story takes place in a fictional land, during a fictional time frame. Not really a big factor here other than as background noise, so to speak. What stands out and becomes apparent after a few pages is that these dark elves show no mercy and take women for their own pleasure without any regards to the woman’s wants or needs.
In the first book Taken, the main character Diana is a fighter. She and her sidekick Gala take it upon themselves to go into the woods called the Dark Forest to find some thieves who have ran off with Diana’s money. Even though they heard frightening tales of people going into the woods and never being seen again, it does not deter Diana from going in.
Of course the tales were true. As soon as the two of them slip further into the woods, they are stopped magically by a dark elf mage who controls their minds. He is pitch black with red eyes, and has an oily substance, that smells cinnamony, which these elves secrete to drive women wild with lust. Diana and her companion are no exception.
From that moment on Diana is thrust into a world where the dark elves are a law unto themselves and where she is given to each male for nine days at a time until she finds her true mate and to sate the males raging lust.
Diana meets Salin who knows that she is his true mate, but he also knows he has a battle on his and nine days to convince her that they are meant to be together.
This story is crazy good! These elves love sex, hell they are sex personified! They don’t back down and in Diana’s case, Salin knows that while she fights it is a turn on for her to be taken and conquered. The elves also don’t care if they have a female or a male to assuage their raging hormones.
Bottom line, this book gets a 5. I wish I could go higher. Why? Not only are the characters well-developed, but the dialogue is top-notch. The basic story behind these dark elves is intriguing and definitely picks up as the series goes on. Don’t let this one pass you by! Book 2 Mastered will be reviewed later!
